Police recover cash, meth from drug suspect

Morgan County deputies arrested a man early Tuesday morning for possession of methamphetamines with the intent to sell the drug, and another man for possession of marijuana.

According to a news release from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Dennis Jenkins was on patrol on Fish Hatchery Road in southern Morgan County late Monday night when he observed two vehicles sitting near the intersection of Unger and Big Oak Tree Road.

Upon investigation, Deputy Jenkins found controlled substances and drug paraphernalia on the subjects, the news release said. A further search led officers to find more than $1,000 in cash, multiple cell phones, digital scales and approximately two grams of suspected crystal meth.

James D. Harman Jr., 28, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, a felony. Jonathan K. Seager, 28, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Harman remains in the Eastern Regional Jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
