Pirates fall at home to Harman

This past Saturday, January 4 the gym at Paw Paw High School was buzzing as they hosted a varsity boys and girls basketball game against Harman.

Harman was able to pick up the 60-40 win over the Pirates behind a strong first half.

Harman led 15-6 at the end of the first quarter. By the half Harman increased their lead to 31-15. At the end of the third quarter Harman held a 43-23 advantage.

At the final buzzer the Pirates tried to rally but fell short 60-40.

Dylan Moreland led the Pirates with 15 points and six rebounds. Gibson Fravel (nine points and four rebounds), Coby Ridgeway (eight points and six rebounds), Logan King (six points and five rebounds), Dalton Kasekamp (three points and eight rebounds) and Johnny Rodriquez (three points and six rebounds) also helped lead the Pirates.

The Pirates returned back to action on Monday, January 6 at 7:30 p.m. with a home contest against Calvary Christian Academy.

Lady Pirates

On the girls side Harman took the 36-17 win over Paw Paw.

The Lady Pirates were led by Hannah Deschenes with eight points, 11 rebounds and one assist, Trista Abrell added six points and eight rebounds and Addison Ross had three points and six rebounds.

The Lady Pirates returned to action Monday, January 6, when they hosted Calvary Christian Academy at 6 p.m.
