Peyton Thompson named to second team All-State Football Team

Four Indians earn honorable mention

The Class AA All-State football team was released last week and Berkeley Springs High School senior running back Peyton Thompson was named to the second team. P. Thompson finished with 94 rushes for 842 yards, six rushing touchdowns and five receptions for 51 yards.
The Indians had four other players earn Honorable Mention All-State honors as well. On the offensive end junior quarterback Gavin Barkley, junior receiver Evan Thompson and sophomore receiver Ty’mir Ross. Barkley finished with 102 completions out of 168 attempts for 1,368 yards passing with 17 touchdown passes. E. Thompson finished with 43 rushed for 267 yards, two rushes touchdowns, 38 receptions for 508 yards and five receiving touchdowns. Ross finished with 35 receptions for 728 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball sophomore Hunter Ambrose earned honors. Ambrose had 32 solo tackles, 21 assists, six sacks, 17 tackles for losses, one forced fumble and four fumble recoveries.
