Pendleton County blasts Indians in season finale

by Jamie Harris

The Berkeley Springs High School Indians hit the road for the long trip to Pendleton County for their last regular season game last Friday, November 8.

Pendleton County was coming off their first loss of the season last week to Moorefield, 35-0, that knocked them out of the #1 Class A ranking. While the Indians dropped a close contest 35-32 to Clear Spring, Md.

On a blustery cold senior night it was the Wildcats that were out for redemption and their ninth win of the season.

After the first quarter both teams were tied at 14-14 as the Indians scored on a pair of Gavin Barkley touchdown passes to freshman Ty’mir Ross. A Peyton Thompson run for the two point conversion added to the score.

The rest of the game belonged to the Wildcats as they scored seven straight touchdowns to blast the Indians 63-14.

No other stats were available for the game.

Berkeley Springs ended their second season under head coach Chip Breeden with a 2-8 record with wins over Hancock, Md. and Hampshire.
