Paw Paw volleyball picks up win over Union

The Paw Paw High School Varsity Volleyball Team earned a split this week on the hardwood with a loss to Hancock and a win over Union.

The Lady Pirates lost 3-0 (25-22, 25-23 and 25-19) to the Hancock Panthers on Tuesday, October 8. Addison Ross led Paw Paw with 12 service points, eight aces and one kill. Hana Hendrickson had seven service points and one ace, Janae Hott had five service points, Alexis Barker had four service points, two aces, and five kills, Maristy Crosco had three service points and one ace and Halle Galliher had two service points and one kill.

Hancock picked up the 2-0 (25-16 and 25-15) win in the junior varsity match. Kayden Watson had four service points and one ace, Ciara Arnold had four service points and two aces, Sami McGlade had three service points and three aces, Zoie Moreland had three service points and one ace, Trista Abrell had two service points and one ace and Hannah Deschenes had two service points.

The Lady Pirates hosted the Union Lady Tigers from Grant County on Thursday, October 10.

Paw Paw was able to secure the 3-1 win by the scores of 25-20, 25-13, 25-27 and 25-12.

The Lady Pirates were led by Hott who had 14 service points, six aces and one kill, Barker had 11 service points, five aces and five kills, Ross had eight service points and five aces, Abrell had eight service points and one kill, Crosco had six service points and one ace and Hendrickson had five service points.

The Paw Paw Varsity Volleyball Team will return to action today, Wednesday, October 16 when they travel to Berkeley Springs for a 4 p.m. start.
