The Paw Paw Pirates Varsity Boys’ Basketball Team kicked off their season hosting the Union Tigers last Friday, December 13. Both schools were ready to jump start their season unfortunately for the visitors from Grant County the Pirates were hitting on all cylinders.
In the first quarter, Paw Paw outscored Union 19-14.
The Pirates continued their hot shooting taking a 35-27 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Paw Paw saw Union battle back to cut the score to 46-45 at the end of the period.
In the final period, the Pirates used a 15-5 run to seal the 61-50 win.
Paw Paw was led by Dylan Moreland (23 points and six rebounds) and Coby Ridgeway (23 points and five rebounds). Logan King added 11 points and six rebounds. The Pirates also got two points each from Hunter Kasekamp, Gibson Fravel and Johnny Rodriguez.
