Paw Paw Middle School Volleyball picks up wins over Union and Petersburg

The Paw Paw Middle School Volleyball Team continued their successful season with a pair of wins this past week. Paw Paw went 2-1 with wins over Union and Petersburg and a loss to East Hardy.

The Lady Pirates traveled to East Hardy for both a seventh and eighth grade game on Monday, October 7.

In the seventh grade contest Paw Paw lost to East Hardy 2-0 by scores of 23-15 and 25-16. Brittany Ramos led the Lady Pirates with five service points and three aces, Kaylee LaMonds added four service points and one ace and Shayla Tanouye had three service points and one ace.

In the eighth grade game East Hardy picked up the 2-0 win by scores of 25-16 and 25-19. Karynn Kerns led Paw Paw with four service points and three aces while Pricilla Corbin had three service points and one ace.

On Thursday, October 10, the Lady Pirates hosted Union and swept the contest 2-0. Miah Smith led Paw Paw with 17 service points and eight aces. Kelsey Hayes added 15 service points and 10 aces. Paw Paw hosted the Petersburg Lady Vikings on Friday, October 11 and picked up the 2-1 win in the seventh grade game by scores of 25-22, 9-25 and 25-13.

Corbin led Paw Paw with seven service points and four aces, Sabrina Ballerstadt had six service points and three aces and Tanouye had three service points.

In the eighth grade game Paw Paw picked up the 2-0 win by scores of 25-16 and 25-11. Hayes led Paw Paw with 11 service points and four aces while LaMonds had seven service points and one ace.

The Paw Paw Middle School Lady Pirates returned to action Tuesday, October 15 when they traveled to Warm Springs Middle School.
