1931-2019

Pauline Amelia Pazanin, age 87, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at her home.

Born March 7, 1931 in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Helen Magnus Soto.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

She was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School in Chicago.

Pauline sang in the choir at Annunciata Catholic Church in Chicago.

She had been a girl scout leader and volunteered with the lunch program at Annunciata Catholic School.

She worked from 1962-1987, retiring as a manager of shipping and receiving from Sears, Roebuck in Chicago.

Pauline enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint and had been a homemaker in recent years.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Lucille Moore of Berkeley Springs, Mary Catherine Solway of Waynesboro, Pa., and Barbara Jean Potts of Berkeley Springs; 11 grandchildren, John Fotis Gerolimos, Jr. of Martinsburg, W.Va., Karen Ann Stephenson of Hobart, Ind., Nick Gerolimos of Millville, W.Va., Tina Louise Burton of Berkeley Springs, Angela Christine Askew of Charles Town, W.Va., Matthew John Pazanin III of Bismarck, N.D., Victoria Marie Pazanin of New Lenox, Ill., Tracie Lynn Winans and Deborah Ann Ward, both of Martinsburg, Amy Lynn Dyer of Freewater, Ore., and Jesse Thomas Potts of Washington, D.C.; 16 great grandchildren, Michael Lee Wisniewski of Hobart, Ind., Aleah Nicole Tucker of Inwood, W.Va., Nicole Elizabeth Breeden of Leetown, W.Va., Christopher Austin Jenkins of Charles Town, W.Va., Andrew James Gerolimos of Millville, W.Va., Andrew Joseph Wisniewski of Hobart, Ind., Autumn Marie Burton of Paw Paw, W.Va., Hannah Elizabeth Burton of Berkeley Springs, Jaydon Michael Gerolimos of Hedgesville, W.Va., Zachary Thomas Wisniewski of Hobart, Ind., Calvin Wayne Askew of Charles Town, W.Va., Amelia Pazanin and Madeline Pazanin, both of Bismarck, N.D., Jonathan Lee Pazanin of New Lenox, Ill., and Hailey Marie Pazanin of New Lenox, Ill., and Katarzyna Amelia Winans of Martinsburg; two great great grandchildren, Abigail Livian Day of Paw Paw, W.Va., and Layla Anita Wisniewski of Hobart, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew John Pazanin on August 8, 2009, her son, Matthew John Pazanin, Jr., two sisters, Delores Soto and Helen Kumiega and three brothers, George, Peter and Raymond Soto.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Liberty & S. Washington Streets, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., with the Rev. Fr. Leonard A. Smith as celebrant.

Interment will be in Greenway Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
