Paul J. Hofe

1936-2019

Paul J. Hofe, 82, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at his home.

Born April 16, 1936 in Little Orleans, Md., he was the son of the late Henry Jackson and Venona Rosalie McCusker Hofe.

He was a graduate of Flintstone High School.

He had served with the US Army as a military policeman.

He was owner of Hofe’s Well Drilling established in 1969.

He was a member of the National Ground Water Association. He had served as former board member, director, and past president of South Atlantic Well Driller Jubilee.

Mr. Hofe worked with WV legislatures and the state health department on well regulations along with his friend Wayne Wachter of Mountain State Well Drilling of Berkeley Springs, WV and the Brannon Family. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. He retired from the IRS and had 35 years of government service.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Cooper Hofe; children, Monica L. Hofe of Minneapolis, Minn., Paul W. Hofe and wife Amy of Hedgesville, and Melissa A. Folk husband David of Hedgesville; grandchildren, Jeremy Folk, Darren Folk, Mayci Folk, Meredyth Hofe; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Hofe of Martinsburg, Thomas Hofe of Berkeley Springs, and J. Bradley Hofe of Little Orleans, Md.; two sisters, Veronica LaFollette of Berkeley Springs and June Weaver of Big Pool, Md.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kay Davison on January 4, 2019.

Family received friends on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home and on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Funeral service was held on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home with Father Jack Lombardi officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Hancock, Md.
