Ora Mae Thompson, 86, of Hancock, Md., died Monday, October 21, 2019, at her home.

Born September 12, 1933, in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Mae (Stoner) Hovermale; and the widow of Robert Vernon Thompson, who died November 13, 2009.

She was a member of the Hancock Assembly of God Church and a volunteer for the Mt. Hope Prison Ministries, in Hagerstown, Md.

She had been employed, for over 17 years, by the former London Fog, in Hancock.

She liked playing games and was a bird watcher.

She is survived by eight children, Nancy Rinard and Patricia Woodal, both of Hancock; Jane Sarricchio, Daytona, Fla.; Connie Malekar and Timothy Thompson, both of Great Cacapon; Terry Thompson, Leeton, Mo.; Mark Thompson, Hopewell, Pa. and Susan Bennett, Mercersburg, Pa.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal McCusker, Berkeley Springs and Carol Keefer, Needmore, Pa.; one brother, James Hovermale, Great Cacapon.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Wood; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Services were held at the Hancock Assembly of God Church on Friday, October 25 with Rev. Donald Preston officiating and burial followed in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Warfordsburg, Pa.

Arrangements were by Grove Funeral Home in Hancock.
