Nena (Gajes) Benavides
1943-2020
Nena (Gajes) Benavides, age 76, of Hancock, Md., passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Winchester Medical Center, in Winchester, Va.
Born September 28, 1943, in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Getulio and Leonida (Saducos) Gajes; and the widow of Jesus Benavides, who passed away July 7, 2014.
Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and friends, and she loved to cook, garden, and farming.
She was a member of the Senior Citizens of the Philippines.
She is survived by a daughter, Janett Divelbiss and her husband, Michael, of Hancock; two sons, Julius Benavides and his wife, Gemma, and Jimmy Benavides and his wife, Jacqueline, all in the Philippines; and six grandchildren, Jayb and Jan Tricia Benavides, Cheyenne Divelbiss, Elijah Divelbiss, Chris Divelbiss, and Amber Buchkovich.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.
Services will be held at a later date in the Philippines.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock.
