Needmore man arrested for shooting into vehicle

A Needmore man was arrested on Saturday, May 18, in Fulton County after firing a gun toward a vehicle on Back Ridge Road.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, around 6:13 p.m. on May 18, a 42-year old Needmore man was driving west on Back Ridge Road when a bullet struck the roof rack on his vehicle.

Through their investigation, police determined 29-year old Derek Lininger had discharged one round from a rifle toward the victim’s vehicle.

Lininger was charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, propulsion of missiles into an occupied vehicle, simple assault, and criminal mischief.

According to online court documents, Lininger was transported to Bedford County Prison on Sunday, May 19, but posted $10,000 bail on Tuesday, May 28.
