The Hancock Police Department is hosting the annual National Night Out this coming Tuesday, August 6, in Widmeyer Park starting at 6 p.m.
Police Chief Rick Cook said there will a band at the event and activities for children, such as a bounce house and laser tag.
There will also be a dunk tank where Hancock residents can have a chance to dunk the chief of police.
The Maryland Division of Natural Resources will have their boat and safety display at National Night Out. Vendors will include the Lions Club serving free hot dogs, chips, and water. Krazy Rayz will offer pulled pork or beef.
Fireworks will be set off once again this year. Cook said the company from last year will be providing the fireworks, which will be starting at dusk.
Law enforcement from Pennsylvania and West Virginia have also been invited to the event.
In case of bad weather, the rain date for National Night Out is Wednesday, August 7.
