Local residents will have a chance to honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost to the disease this Saturday, June 9 during Morgan County’s Relay for Life event at the Widmyer Elementary School Track.
Activities this year are the collaborative efforts of Julie Vogel, Joann Blankley, Misty Clingerman and Morgan Golden. Seven teams are already signed up for this fundraiser. The public invited to participate in numerous fun activities. There will be food, fun and games including face painting with prizes, raffles, 50/50 and even a 7-day Bahamas cruise for two is up for grabs.
Highlighting the event is the Luminaria Ceremony that takes place at dark. All participants are given luminarias and light up the track to remember those struggling with cancer and remember lost loved ones.
The Morgan County’s Relay for Life was awarded the 2017 Most Funds Donated per capita in all of West Virginia. Organizers hope they will receive the honor once again.
