Monday showers cause minor flooding

Heavy rains Monday afternoon dropped upwards of three inches of water on parts of Morgan County, causing minor flooding in Berkeley Springs.

Several roadways across the county were shut down by the West Virginia Division of Highways (DOH) between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Many were usual high-water spots, including Powerhouse Road in Great Cacapon and Johnsons Mill Road, Mesner Road and parts of Highland Ridge Road. Martinsburg Road near Radio Station Road was covered in water, and the baseball fields at Berkeley Springs High School were also underwater for a short time.

Rainstorms are forecast through the middle of the week.
