1959-2020

Melissa (Granberg) Swaim, 60, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., was taken into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on June 21, 2020 at Hospice of the Panhandle, following a nearly two-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Born August 9, 1959 in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Pauline (Spampinato) Granberg.

She was blessed to have a daughter, Kelsey Swaim Miller, and her husband, Dru; loving brother, Eric Granberg; aunt, Thelma Granberg; and many loyal and devoted friends, some lifelong.

She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Special Education (1982) and a Master of Arts in Learning Disabilities (1986) from West Virginia University and went on to teach special education at Valley View Elementary, Martinsburg, W.Va. from 1982 to 1989.

Most recently, she served as the receptionist/office assistant for Independent Bible Church in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Services will be held at the Independent Bible Church Sanctuary on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 12 p.m.

The family will receive visitors two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
