Mary L. Wolfrey
1937-2018
Mary Lee Wolfrey, age 81, of Cross Junction, Va., died at her home on Saturday, November 24, 2018 while under the care of Blue Ridge Hospice.
Born November 2, 1937 in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late William Henry “Whitey” and Margaret Lucille Franz Spencer.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs.
Mary attended Catholic school in Baltimore.
She had worked with Joe Lillard at Homeopathy Works in Berkeley Springs and drove a school bus in Frederick County, Va.
Mary enjoyed cooking, canning and shopping.
She had been a homemaker in recent years.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years. Clarence Haywood Wolfrey, Jr., at home; four children, Johnnica “Nicky” Mason, Alfred Earl “Duke” Evans and Michaelene “Michael” Evans, all of Cross Junction and Tina Marie Evans of Inwood, W.Va.; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Sharon Lee Miller and Lawrence Earl “Bucky” Evans and one sister, Regina Shirley Armsworthy Cronise.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs W.Va., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Fr. Leonard A. Smith will officiate.
Interment will be private.
