Mary L. Hook
1932-2020
Mary Lou Hook, 87, of Leesburg, Va. and formerly of Paw Paw, died Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the Berkeley Springs Center in Berkeley Springs.
She was born June 26, 1932 at Paw Paw and was the daughter of the late Lloyd Hardy and Odessa Santymire Hardy.
She was a 1951 graduate of Paw Paw High School, had worked as a newspaper secretary in Leesburg, as a cook at Leesburg Elementary School, retired from working as a secretary for Travelers Insurance Company and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Hook on October 10, 2007 and one son, Todd Hook.
Surviving are one daughter, Deborah Chapman, Winchester, Va.; one son, Gregory Hook, Lovettsville, Va.; one sister, Freda Miller, Berkeley Springs; six grandchildren, Jason Herndon, Jennifer Herndon, Steven Chapman, Catharine Woodward, Sarah Manning and Rebecca Hook and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service and interment was held Saturday, March 21 at Woodrow Cemetery, Paw Paw with Pastor Earl Travis officiating.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Kimble Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
