Mary Elizabeth Linaweaver Young
1928-2019
Mary Elizabeth Linaweaver Young, 90, of Santee, California, formerly of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at her residence in Santee, Calif.
Born December 3, 1928, in Morgan County, she was the youngest child and daughter of the late Wilmer Marion and Geneva Bragg Linaweaver.
She was a retired Registered Nurse, having been employed during her career in numerous medical facilities throughout the United States.
She graduated from Berkeley Springs High School in 1947 and from Kings Daughters Hospital School of Nursing in Martinsburg in 1953.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, George William Linaweaver in 1989 and an infant brother in 1921.
She is survived by one sister, Dessa Lurene L. Gano of Berkeley Springs; one daughter, Lyn M. Goodman and husband, Scott, of Akron, Ohio; one son, Kim Ray “Joe” Young, of Sherman, Texas; one sister-in-law, Julia H. Linaweaver of Berkeley Springs; four grandsons, Matthew and Calvin Goodman of Ohio, Taylor and Zachary Young of Texas; three granddaughters, Katy Goodman of Ohio, Melissa and Danielle Young of Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; one niece and three nephews.
Services will be private with burial in Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs, Saturday, June 29 at 2 p.m.
