Mark Kevin Johnson, 59, of Berkeley Springs, died Sunday, November 22, 2020 at his mother’s home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born June 19, 1961 at War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs, he was the son of Barbara Irene Kuykendall Johnson, Berkeley Springs and the late Herbert Lester Johnson.

He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at Spohrs Crossroads and attended First United Methodist Church.

He was a 1979 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and completed one year of college. He worked in sales at his family’s business, Herb’s Auto Sales.

He served as a technical sargent with the U.S. Air Force from May 22, 1992 until his honorable discharge on December 8, 2004. He was awarded numerous medals from the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60, the Junior Order of United American Mechanics Council #117 and the Mountain State Cruisers.

He liked old muscle cars, playing cards and dominoes and bowling.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Christopher Johnson, Berkeley Springs and Jessica Mann, Warfordsburg, Pa.; one sister, Kimberly Nichols, Berkeley Springs; one brother, Kirk Johnson, Berkeley Springs; six grandchildren, Austin, Coltin and Braxtin Mann all of Warfordsburg, Logan, Grason and Henry Johnson, all of Berkeley Springs and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, November 25 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs with Pastor Dick Voorhaar and Pastor Steve Dawson officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.
