Marguerite F. Fleegle
1937-2020
Marguerite Faye “Margie” Barnes Fleegle, age 82, our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister departed this life, Saturday, May 16, 2020 at her residence in Hancock, Md., while surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 13, 1937 in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of the late Herbert T. and Annetta M. Unger Barnes.
She married the love of her life, Melvin Thomas Fleegle on December 23, 1955, together they had three children, Gloria, Mike and Debbie.
She attended Berkeley Springs High School.
In her younger years, she sold Avon, cleaned houses and raised their family. Once her children reached their teen years, she began her career at Fleetwood Industries in Hancock, Md., retiring in 1999.
Marge loved gardening and her flowers, bird watching and her annual trips to Ocean City with her son, Mike.
She is survived by her son, Michael T. Fleegle and his girlfriend Tammy Knepper; her daughter, Debbie Fleegle and her husband Tom Everett; three sisters, Mildred Deatherage, Crossville, Tenn., Rachel Glascock, Martinsburg, W.Va., Lucille Ray, Boonsboro, Md.; two brothers, Bruce Barnes and Randy Barnes of Berkeley Springs; four grandchildren, April Socks and her husband Charlie, Gary Hovermale and his wife Constance, Sarah Manning and her husband, Tanner, all of Berkeley Springs, Brian T. Hull of Huntington, W.Va.; nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mom was greeted into Heaven by her husband, Melvin Fleegle; her daughter, Gloria Fleegle; she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte M. Trail and Barbara A. Barnes and an infant brother.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday May 20th at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 3430 Johnson’s Mill Road, Berkeley Springs, with Pastor Lisa Unger officiating.
