Margelee S. Anderson
1931-2019
Margelee Stewart Anderson, 87, of Cameron, died Saturday, January 26, 2019.
She was born October 20, 1931 in Sanford, N.C., daughter of the late A.H. and Myrtle Davis Stewart.
She was a graduate of Boone Trail High School, North Carolina. A graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C. in 1954 with an English Degree and obtained her Masters Degree at WVU.
She was a Southern Baptist and became a member of the First Christian Church, Cameron.
She taught some at the university as part of her internship, also taught at Clay-Battelle High School.
She and her husband Charles Anderson then founded Anderson Funeral Home in Cameron in 1960 where she began her latter teaching career for 20 years as a senior English teacher.
She began the Thespians, a drama club at Cameron High.
She is survived by her children, John Anderson and Brent Anderson, both of Berkeley Springs, Dr. Charla Anderson, Bethlehem and Jeffrey Anderson, Moundsville; one sister, Hazel Adams, of North Carolina; one brother, Charles Stewart of Michigan; seven grandchildren, Jan Tom, Craig Anderson, Shelby Anderson, Michelle Stephenson, Zachary Anderson, Brittany Benson and Luke Anderson; seven great-grandchildren and some nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, January 31 at Anderson Funeral Home, Cameron. Pastor Kenny Hardway officiated.
Interment at the convenience of the family.
