Luella C. Spellman
1946-2019
Luella Cain Spellman, 72, of Culpeper passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Dogwood Village of Orange County.
She was born October 17, 1946 in Morgan County, W.Va., to the late Edward and Emma Lee Kaylor Cain.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph Franklin Leary, Jr. and his wife, Leslee of Chantilly, Va., and Bradley Edward Leary of Fredericksburg, Va.; two siblings, Esta Lee Cain and her husband, Alan Thatcher of Bel Air, Md., and Edward S. Cain, Jr. and his wife, Shelia of Milton, W.Va.; and two grandchildren, Christopher and Sean Leary, both of Chantilly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Sue Householder; her grandparents, Edward and Icy Cain and Thomas and Emma Kaylor; two nephews, Tom and Mark Perry; as well as all aunts and uncles.
Luella was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School working numerous jobs over her career serving both private industry and the state of Virginia finishing her work journey at the Culpeper District Headquarters of the Virginia Department of Transportation.
She valued the working relationships she developed over the years with her coworkers and maintained those special relations throughout her remaining years.
She attended both Culpeper and Warrenton Presbyterian Churches.
Luella’s passions were spending time with her family to include annual family reunions and trips to National Parks and other special destinations, taking pride in the accomplishments of her sons, grandsons, nephews and nieces; taking trips to Skyline Drive and the Shenandoah Valley, listening to country music, reading, cooking, antiquing, art, and a general love of all things nature.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Va.
