Lester L. Hovermale
1926-2019
Lester Leo Hovermale, 92 of Clarksburg, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Tygart Center in Fairmont with family by his side.
He was born in Brosious, W.Va., near Berkeley Springs, on August 27, 1926, son of the late, Russell Norman and Mary Etta Hovermale.
Lester is survived by one son, Leo E. Hovermale and wife Karen, Bridgeport; one daughter, Betty B. Craig and husband Lester, Salem, Va.; three grandchildren, Melissa Conley, Deidra Pereira and husband Mike, Russell Hovermale and wife Michelle; four great grandchildren, Colten, Grady, Grace and Cyanna; four sisters, Ethel Spielman, Berkeley Springs, Rosalee Mick and John, Fort McCoy, Fla., Louise Messner, Berkeley Springs, Linda Woods and husband Ernie, Berkeley Springs; one aunt, Agnes Kriner, Hollywood, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of sixty three years, Monnie A. Hovermale on December 17, 2011; two siblings in infancy.
Lester served our country in the United States Army during WWII.
He retired from the VA Hospital with fourteen years of service as a Nursing Assistant.
He was currently a member of the Oak Mound Evangelical Church and previously a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church since 1950 and where he was a deacon.
Family received friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 1-7 p.m.
Funeral service was held at Davis Funeral Home on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Steve DeLay presiding. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
