Leona M. Crosen
1934-2019
Leona Mae DeMoss Crosen, age 85, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family and while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born February 16, 1934 in Great Cacapon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harry Lawrence and Hallie Belle Boyles DeMoss.
She was a member of Wesleyan Chapel.
Leona attended Berkeley Springs High School.
She was a homemaker all her life to her husband, children and her family.
Leona enjoyed sewing, quilting and taking care of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Diana Mae Bowman and her husband Harold of Hancock, Md., Max Delano Crosen, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Berkeley Springs, Brian Keith Crosen and wife Julie of Martinsburg, W.Va., her twin sister, Ramona Lee DeMoss Apple of Hancock, Md., one brother, William Edward DeMoss of Martinsburg, six grandchildren, Meilana Ostrowsky of Scottsville, Va., Mandy McAlexander and Mathias Crosen both of Berkeley Springs, Katie Ann Crosen of Winchester, David Crosen and Isabella Crosen both of Martinsburg, five step grandchildren, James Bowman, Paul Alan Bowman and Elizabeth Mills all of Hancock, Hope King of Chambersburg, Pa., Jennifer Bolten of Martinsburg, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband of 67½ years, Max Delano Crosen, Sr. on August 23, 2019.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with Rev. William C. Swope officiating.
Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Cross Junction, Va.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
