Leo Vincent Kesecker
1932-2021
Leo Vincent Kesecker, age 88, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born June 26, 1932 in Morgan County, WV, he was the son of the late Paul Franklin and Julia Viola Grove Kesecker.
He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Leo was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
He served in the United States Army.
Leo’s first job was hauling coal with Ruppenthal’s. He then joined the family cannery and farm, Crossroads Canning Company, which he operated with his brother, Deanie.
Leo especially enjoyed his short and long haul trucking for various businesses in the area.
His favorite hobbies were hunting and reading.
Leo was a 55 year member of Deford Lodge A.F & A.M. #88.
Leo is survived by his children, Vincent Dean Kesecker and his wife Sandy, and Lonnie Lynn Kesecker, Barry Carson Kesecker and his wife Nicole all of Berkeley Springs, seven grandchildren, Carrie Maretta Kesecker, Kyle Vincent Kesecker, Carter Ryan Kesecker, Stuart Carson Kesecker, Preston Grant Kesecker, Grace Viola Kesecker and Rachel Elaine Kesecker all of Berkeley Springs, and three nieces and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Jane Cain Kesecker on January 1, 2015, one brother, Maurice Dean “Deanie” Kesecker and one niece.
Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 5377 Martinsburg Road, Berkeley Springs, where the family will receive friends from 1-2pm. Pastor Tony Pirrone will officiate.
Military honors will be provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard. Private burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.
