Belle Harvey finishes in fourth place

by Jamie Harris
At this time of the year one thing can be certain. When it comes to the WV Class A/AA State Cross Country Championships you can bet the Berkeley Springs High School Lady Indians will be somewhere near the top of the team standings when the dust has settled.
Once again this year, Berkeley Springs was near the top of the team standings finishing with a solid fourth place with 76 points. Winfield (37 points), Bridgeport (59 points) and Williamstown (74 points) were the top three teams.
The Lady Indians were led by sophomore Belle Harvey who has been the team’s number one runner all season. Harvey finished in fourth place with a time of 19:58 and gained some redemption as she beat out an East Fairmont runner who had topped her last week in the Class A/AA Region I Championships.
Senior Brooke Davison capped her four year cross country career with a 27th place with a time of 21:36. Junior Hannah Morgan (28th place, 21:37), sophomore Taylor Mason (22:33) and senior Alex Banks (22:33)  also a four year runner in her final high school cross country race helped lead the Berkeley Springs harriers.
On the boys side Paw Paw’s Dominic Tanouye a sophomore finished in 32  place with a time of 18:09.16.
