Jonas Matthew DeHaven, age 21, of Hedgesville, W.Va., was called to Heaven on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born February 2, 1999 in Winchester, Va., he is the son of Michelle Nicole Evans of Falling Waters, W.Va. and David Wayne DeHaven of Hedgesville.

As a child of God Jonas uplifted his family and friends with his infectious smile, amazing hugs and sense of humor.

A high school graduate, Jonas loved nature, hunting, fishing, mechanics and woodworking. He loved his dog Krystal.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Edward William Wayne DeHaven of Hedgesville; his maternal grandmother, Susan Michelle Sibole of Hedgesville; his paternal grandparents, William Wayne DeHaven, Sr. of Gerrardstown, W.Va. and Sandra Kay Smith of Hedgesville; his maternal great grandmother, Carol Ann Sibole of Williamsport, Md.; his paternal great-grandmother, Betty Lou Smith of Gerrardstown and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services and interment in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery will be private.
