1948-2020

Johnny Leroy Potter, age 71, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at his residence while surrounded by his loving family and while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born July 31, 1948 in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of the late Ervin Byron and Virginia Louise Munday Potter.

He attended Word of Deliverance Church.

Johnny was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

He served with United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Johnny retired from General Motors in Martinsburg, W.Va. and in recent years, he worked in the housekeeping department with War Memorial Hospital.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidson, planting and spending time in his garden.

Johnny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and being with his siblings.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 52 years Kialeen Sue Wills Potter at home, his children, Heather Dawn Ward and her husband Jerry of Hancock, Md., John Allan Potter and his wife Tonya of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Betty Waugh of Berkeley Springs; five grandchildren, Ashley Potter, Cody Howe, Destinee Howe, Parker Ward, Baylee Ward, one great-granddaughter, Catherine Howe and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Potter.

Services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Johnny’s name may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
