1936-2019

John Albert Arnica, age 82, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born April 13, 1936 in Paw Paw, W.Va., he was the son of the late Thomas G. and Margaret Alice Miller Arnica.

He was a graduate of Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, Md., and served with the U. S. Army from February 11, 1959 until his honorable discharge at the rank of SP4 on February 10, 1961.

He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the 1st Class Missile Qualification Badge w/Component Bar Missile and was a Sharpshooter (Carbine).

He worked as an independent truck driver, most recently with Re-Steel in Berkeley Springs.

John was an avid reader, a nature enthusiast and enjoyed watching television and spending time with his family.

John will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather, professional truck driver, proud American and U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Deloris Sirk Arnica, at home; his children, (USA Ret, 1SG) Charles Brooks Harrington, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Edwardsville, Ill., Audra Louise Haas and her husband Greg and Jennifer Lynn Harrington and her husband Rocky Johnson, all of Berkeley Springs; four grandchildren, Monica Ross, Bridgett Yost, Rebecca Yost and Samantha Harrington and two great grandchildren, Harmony Willis and Laurel Widdows.

Services and interment will be private.
