Jeffery Brian Shaw

1962-2020

Jeffery Brian Shaw, 58, was lifted into Heaven on Friday, March 20, 2020.

He was born on February 6, 1962 in Berkeley Springs.

He is the son of Bonnie Shaw Kirch and Terry Kirch and the late Gaylen B. Shaw, Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Jenna Palmer and husband, James of Martinsburg; brothers Michael Shaw, Gaylen B. Shaw III (Len), Patrick Shaw, Bradley Shaw and his wife, Lisa; along with his many nieces and nephews as well as his Aunt Debbie, who was one of his biggest fans.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kern McPeak; maternal grandmother, Margaret Fields and her husband, Jim Fields (step grandfather); paternal grandparents, Gaylen (Brownie) Shaw and Evelyn Shaw.

He was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School, where he was a standout athlete and one of the greatest basketball players to play on the high school court.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion.

He was of the Christian faith and attended The Refuge Community Church.

Jeff was an accomplished mason and strived hard for perfection and it showed in his work.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, infectious smile and larger than life friendly personality. He never met a stranger, just a friend he hadn’t spoken to yet. Jeff enjoyed watching the Redskins, being with family, socializing with friends and being outdoors. However, the true joy and love of his life was his daughter, Jenna, who he loved beyond measure.

Due to the funeral homes having restrictions in place pertaining to the COVID-19, a funeral will not take place at this time. However, a memorial service is being planned in the near future.
