Jebediah Barnhardt Williams, age 25, of Arvada, Colo., passed away at his home, on Saturday, February 9, 2019. B

orn February 12, 1993, in Hagerstown Md., he was the son of Carol J. Barnhardt of Warfordsburg, Pa. and Roger K. Williams of Everett, Pa.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Hannah O. Williams and Emma L. Williams, both of Warfordsburg.

He loved to hunt, mountain climb and ski.

He was a graduate of Southern Fulton High School with the class of 2011.

Jeb enlisted in the U.S Marine Corps upon his high school graduation and served from 2011 until 2015, and completed two tours in Afghanistan. Corporal Jebediah B. Williams was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for professional achievement in the superior performance of his duties, by serving as lead Husky mine detector vehicle operator of the Route Clearance Platoon 2, Route Clearance Co. 2D Combat Engineer Battalion, Marine Expeditionary Brigade, in Afghanistan, from June 11 to 13, 2014, not exiting his vehicle for forty-two of continuous hours, without exiting his vehicle for any significant length of time. Operating night and day, he cleared over 100 kilometers of terrain laden with improvised explosive devices. During the operation, vehicles moving outside of the cleared area were attacked by explosive devices. With little regard for his personal safety, he led recovery assets in and out of each separate blast site, allowing for the safe recovery of three disabled vehicles and 11 marines.

He was currently a student at the University of Colorado, in Boulder, Colo., majoring in Chemical Engineering.

There will be a gathering of friends on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 6 until 8 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, Md.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at 1 p.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 16 E. High Street, Hancock, Md. Fr. John Lombardi will be officiating.

Burial, with military honors by the Tri-State Honor Guard, will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
