Janet Wanda Ann Carter, 72, of Cross Junction, Va., died Monday, July 15, 2019 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born August 12, 1946 in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Mety and Wanda Bertha Trybuskivich Kiziu.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs.

She was a graduate of Archbishop Walsh High School in Irvington, N.J. and had attended Berkeley Business School in New Jersey.

She had worked as a secretary with Shering Plough Pharmaceutical in Union, N.J., Merck Pharmaceutical in Rahway, N.J. and with the Action Temporary Agency in mid New Jersey.

She liked reading, watching television and working out at the Valley Health Fitness Center in Winchester.

She is survived by her husband of 51 1/2 years, William Donald “Bill” Carter at home; her children, Lisa McCormick, Rahway and Brian Carter, Bethlehem, Pa.; one brother, Benjamin Kiziu, Jr., Murrells Inlet, S.C. and three grandchildren, Brian Carter II and Victoria Carter, both of Bethlehem and Jesse McCormick, Rahway.

Mass of Christian Burial was offered Saturday, July 20 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Berkeley Springs. Rev. Michael Lecias was celebrant. Interment was private.
