1944-2019

James “Jim” Franklin Fink, Sr., age 75, of Hancock, Md., passed away in his home on Friday, November 22, 2019.

Born October 21, 1944, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Ernest L. and Mildred I. (Divelbliss) Fink.

He attended Hancock public schools.

Jim worked in heavy construction for Richard F. Kline, Inc. and C. William Hetzer, Inc. for 17 years; he was Hancock’s Town Foreman for 25 years; and he operated Jim’s Game Room, in Hancock, for 17 years. After his retirement, he operated an Antique shop; worked as a Security Guard for the District Court, in Hagerstown, Md.; and he also worked for Zimmerman’s Auction House, in Hancock, because he loved sales.

Jim is survived by his wife, Janice Arlene (Barnhart) Fink; a son, James Franklin Fink, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Hancock; a daughter, Stacey Lynn McKinney and her husband, Joe, of Inwood, W.Va.; a grandson, Joshua Lynn Fink, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a great-grand daughter, Avarie R. Fink; two step-granddaughters, Katie McKinney and Jewell McCarty; two step-grandsons, Jonathan Barker and Michael Munson; and several nieces and nephews. Rev. William Swope was his good friend and pastor for years.

In addition to his mother and father, Jim was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn D. Faith and Shelvie Jean Starliper; and five brothers, Ezra E. Divelbliss, Sr., Ernest W. Fink, Herbert H. Fink, Wilbur R. Fink and Dennis Fink.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, in Hagerstown, Md.

n lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Hospice of Washington County, or the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock.
