Industrial coating company buys business park lot

A company specializing in spray coatings for industrial surfaces and vehicles will be the newest tenant of the Morgan County Business Park.

Poly Coating Solutions, LLC of Berkeley Springs closed on lot #5 in the business park on February 15 and plans to begin construction of a 60’ by 80’ building this summer, said Lucas Andrews, co-owner of the company.

The lot is 2.8 acres and sold for $13,500. Lot #5 is the first lot sold in the business park since 2010, said Morgan County Economic Development Director Daryl Cowles.

Andrews and partner Clayton Jewell started Poly Coating Solutions in 2014 with an eye toward supplying protective coatings for wastewater, mining and oil and gas industrial customers. The company has clients in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Ohio.

Poly Coating Solutions applies protective coatings on industrial equipment and sites. Andrews said the new Morgan County location will be the company’s primary office and shop. They’ll offer spray-in bed linings, spray foam applications and blasting services at the business park location.

Andrews said the company, which employs three and plans to add two more employees, is shooting to be in the business park by the end of 2018.

Cowles said the EDA has a contract to sell another lot in the business park – Lot #11 at the front corner of the business park along U.S. 522 – but that deal has not been finalized yet. The potential buyer of the 2.26-acre parcel is a distillery, Cowles said.

There are still eight lots for sale in the Morgan County Business Park. Local companies Re-Steel Supply Co. and Homeopathy Works both operate out of the business park, located 12 miles south of Berkeley Springs along U.S. 522.
