The Berkeley Springs High School Indians Golf Team hosted the Berkeley Springs Invitational on Thursday, August 9 at the Cacapon State Park Golf Resort. The Tribe and the six other teams could not ask for any better weather as the sun was shining and the student golfers were looking for season low scores.
Hedgesville took the top team honors with a score of 332. Jefferson County was second with 350 points. Spring Mills third place with 398, Berkeley Springs fourth place with 405, Petersburg fifth place with 407, Musselman sixth place with 420 and Martinsburg seventh place with 443 rounded out the team scoring.
The Indians were led by sophomore Carson Stotler who shot a 94 on the day. Sophomore teammate Jordan Miller shot a 96. Freshman Sara Veara shot a 100, while Cole McClintock (115), Corbin Waugh (122) and Graham Lindsey (128) rounded out the scoring for the Indians.
The Indians participated in the Martinsburg Invitational on Tuesday, August 7. The Indians finished in second place as a team. Veara and sophomores Jordan, Miller and Stotler were selected to the All-Tournament Team for their impressive performances on the links.
Berkeley Springs hosted PVC rivals Frankfort, Keyser and Petersburg in a quad match yesterday, Tuesday, August 14 at the Cacapon State Park Golf Resort.
They will host Hedgesville and Spring Mills on Tuesday, August 21 and on Thursday, August 23.
