1924-2018
Howard Marshall Crouse, 94, died Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Louisa County, Va.
He was born in Paw Paw in 1924, he was the son of the late Howard L. and Minnie May Crouse.
He was a veteran of the Navy serving in World War II trained as a radioman on supply ships in the Atlantic theatre. After the Navy, he worked as a telegraph operator for the Western Maryland Railroad, owned peach, cherry and apple orchards, saw mill and a farm in West Virginia.
He was a lifetime member of Lions Club of Paw Paw, Gideons International.
He was a member of the Woodrow Christian Church where he was both Trustee and Superintendent of the Sunday school, lay minister and took mission trips to Guatemala to help build orphanages.
He liked to fish, play piano, painting and quilting.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Crouse Perkins and one granddaughter, April Wintermoyer Braun; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Crouse whom he married in 1943 and his 10 brothers and sisters.
A service will be held at Woodrow Christian Church, Paw Paw at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 9.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
