One of the first female standout athletes in Berkeley Springs High School history is taking her rightful place as a member of the Berkeley Springs High School Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2019. Mary Jean Hottel was a standout basketball and softball player for the Lady Indians in the late 1940’s. Hottel graduated from Berkeley Springs in 1950.
The Berkeley Springs yearbook described Hottel as happy, pretty, sharp and mighty sweet.…
