1927-2018

Henry Reed King, 90, of Paw Paw, W.Va., died on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at his home.

Henry was born on December 24, 1927 in Paw Paw, W.Va., a son of the late Arlof and O. Pauline King.

He was a veteran in the United States Navy and worked in maintenance with the Maryland Park Services on the C&O Canal.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #128 in Paw Paw, VFW Post #9451 in Oldtown, Md., and the Lighthouse Assembly of God near Paw Paw.

Henry loved farming, hunting, fishing and talking to people.

Henry married Olive Noland King on June 12, 1971 in Paw Paw, W.Va. Olive died on August 30, 2018.

Surviving is a step-daughter: Deanna J. Cowgill of Paw Paw, W.Va.; a sister: Judith King of Ashburn, Va.; two step-grandsons: Kenneth Whitacre of Boonsboro, Md., and Scott Whitacre of Cumberland, Md.; six step-great-grandchildren; five step-great-great-grandchildren; four nephews: Mike King, Jeff King, Chris King and Tim King, all of Paw Paw; three nieces Diane Henderson of Falls Church, Va.; Karen Hunter of Ashburn, Va., and Kathy Brown of Fort Ashby, W.Va.

He is preceded in death by three brothers: Dan, Tom & Joe and two sisters: Lois & Sis.

A funeral service will be held at the Lighthouse Assembly of God near Paw Paw, W.Va., on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 1 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Earl Travis.

Interment will follow in the Woodrow Cemetery near Paw Paw.

Family received friends at the church on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 5-7:30 p.m.
