1929-2019

Hazel Fern Hart, age 89, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Fulton County Medical Center, in McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born December 1, 1929 in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late William and Hazel (Munson) McCusker; the widow of her first husband, Cecil Murphy; and the wife of Marshall Eugene Hart, whom she had been married to for 44 years.

She was retired from Londontown Mfg., in Hancock, after 34 years of employment there.

She had also worked for Jacob Brothers Mfg., and the local orchards, before her retirement.

She was a member of Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, in Hancock; and also a member of the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion auxiliary, where she served as president for 18 years.

In addition to her husband, Marshall, she is survived by one son, Roger L. Murphy and his wife, Joyce, of Hancock; two granddaughters, Melissa and Hope; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Morgan, Garrett and Mckennon; one brother, Henry McCusker, of Hancock; one sister, Harriet Yost, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Murphy; a daughter, Deborah Manning; a great-granddaughter, Sydney; four brothers and three sisters.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, 14253 Exline Rd., Hancock, Md., with Pastor Philip Unger officiating.

Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, on Wednesday, February 6, from 6 until 8 p.m., and at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, at the above address.
