Hattie L. Zeigler

1924-2018

Hattie Lorraine Zeigler, 94, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, December 21, 2018 at The Berkeley Springs Center LLC.

Born February 7, 1924 in Beauty, Ken., she was the daughter of the late William Vale, Sr. and Lucinda Mae Mills Allen.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She attended public schools in Kentucky.

She and her husband owned/operated Mountain State Refrigeration and Mountain State Ice.

She had been a homemaker in recent years.

She liked vegetable gardening and was meticulous about her lawn.

She is survived by her children, Claude Clatterbuck, Honey Grove, Pa., Denise Bergen and Timothy Zeigler, both of Berkeley Springs and Rhonda Zeigler, Hilton Head Island, S.C.; two sisters, Lena Hinkle, Columbus, Ohio and Mary Poland, Churchton, Md.; three brothers, William “Sonny” Allen, Jr., Huntingtown, Md., Harold Allen, Charleston and Roger Allen, Beards Fork; six grandchildren, David Clatterbuck, Shenandoah, Iowa, Crystal Ranson, Valencia, Pa., Pastor Charles Bergen and Timothy Zeigler, both of Berkeley Springs, Jessica Stubing, Charleston, S.C. and Matthew Beadenkopf, Denver, Colo.; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Randolph Jackson Clatterbuck; her second husband, Ronald Eugene Zeigler; one son, James Clatterbuck; three sisters and six brothers.

Services and interment will be private.
