Harvey captures the Berkeley Springs Cross Country Invitational Championship

It seems like a broken record, week after week a sophomore standout cross country runner from Berkeley Springs High School continues to rack up win after win. Chalk another one up for Belle Harvey this time at the Berkeley Springs Invitational that was held at the Cacapon State Park cross country course on Saturday, September 22.

The dynamite runner delivered another solid performance with a winning time of 22:31.20 to easily outdistance Addie LaBombard of Jefferson who finished with a time of 23:46.

The host school Berkeley Springs took the top team honors with a score of 27.

The Tribe had four other runners place in the top 10 along with another runnerin the top 20. Taylor Mason (third place, 24:36), Brooke Davison (eighth place, 25:38), Hannah Moran (ninth place, 25:50) and Alex Banks (10th place, 25:55) rounded out the top 10 for Berkeley Springs. Kierstyn Wise finished in 20th place with a time of 28:53.

Paw Paw’s Marissa Moreland finished in 34th place with a time of 37:19.

On the boys side Paw Paw’s Dominic Tanouye was the top male performer among the runners from Berkeley Springs and Paw Paw. Tanouye finished in seventh place with a time of 20:56 and continued his impressive sophomore season.

Berkeley Springs freshman was the Tribe’s top performer finishing in 15th place with a time of 22:10.  Berkeley Springs senior Jeremiah Torres was 19th with a time of 22:40. The Indians also got a 25th finish from Dylan Wise (23:06) and a 27th place finish from Cole Morris (23:08).

Spring Mills took the top boys honors followed by Jefferson, Hedgesville and Berkeley Springs.

Next up for Berkeley Springs and Paw Paw was the Progressive Physical Therapy Invitational held by Allegany High School on Tuesday, September 25. Then on Saturday, September 29 the Tribe will participate in the Wet and Wild Invitational held at Cameron High School.
