Hancock takes West County Championship

Hancock Little League’s Yankees brought home the West County Championship after a sweeping victory on Friday, June 4.

The Yankees beat out Clear Spring Little League’s Orioles 21-0 at the 2021 Showcase.

The Hancock Yankees (formerly the Dodger in 2020) faced off against the Orioles in the West County Championship in hopes of bringing home the championship cup once again.

“The Yankees not only changed their name for 2021, but the entire dynamics of their team to rebound from an upsetting season in 2020 to a phenomenal reconstructed powerhouse this year, climbing the ladder to the top to earn their spot in the West County Classic,” said Little League officials.

Battle of the Potomac

Hancock’s Nationals fell to Morgan County Little League’s Cardinals during the Memorial Day Battle of the Potomac with a final score of Nationals 4, Cardinals 5. It was the first time Morgan County took the Championship since the Championship was created in 2019, said Hancock Little President  Brandon M. Utermoehlen.
