West Virginia State Park officials will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking this Friday, November 2 for lodge upgrades underway at Cacapon State Park.
The event is open to the public and will begin at 10 a.m. at the main lodge.
State and local officials are expected to discuss the project and its impact in the region. State Commerce officials said Governor Jim Justice is expected to attend the event.
The $25 million construction project started earlier this month and is expected to be completed by 2020. It includes the addition of a new wing of the lodge on the north end of the existing building. A dining room, lounge, spa and indoor pool will also be added to the lodge, and existing sections of the building will be renovated as part of the project.
