1927-2019

Goldie Mae Johnston, age 91, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at the Williamsport Nursing Home, in Williamsport, Md.

Born August 8, 1927, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late William and Rhoda Belle (Gordon) Younker; and the widow of her first husband, Lee Younker, who died in 1974, and her second husband, Herbert R. Johnston, who died in 2000.

She attended Hancock area schools.

She worked as a seamstress for the former London Fog Corp., in Hancock, for twenty-eight years.

A favorite pastime of hers was to play Bingo with friends in Clear Spring, Md.

Goldie is survived by a daughter, Betty L. Henson, of Hancock; a granddaughter, Christina Flowers and her husband, Rick, of Clear Spring; and a great-grandson, Jessey Flowers, of Clear Spring.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Edward L. Henson; two brothers; and four sisters.

A Graveside Service was held at the Damascus Cemetery, on Big Cove Tannery Road, Big Cove Tannery, Pa., at 11 a.m., on Friday, August 2, 2019. Rev. Robert Shatzer officiated.

Arrangements were handled by the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock, Md.
