Gary L. Berkey
1946-2019
Gary Lee Berkey, 72, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at his home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born September 7, 1946 in Windber, Pa., he was the son of the late Donald Roy and Ruth Adele Ream Berkey.
He was a Christian and attended many different churches.
He was a graduate of Windber Area High School and studied music at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas.
He played keyboards and guitar at the BlackCat Music Shop, Berkeley Springs.
He was a member of the San Angelo, Texas Lions Club.
He was a professional musician and restauranteur.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Lynne Stewart Berkey, at home; his children, Graciela Villarreal, Lubbock, Samuel Reynolds, Ft. Worth, Texas and Steven Reynolds, Berkeley Springs; one sister, Cheryl Berkey, Mt. Dora, Fla.; one brother, Mark Berkey, Windber; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Caleb, Cade and Connor Villarreal, all of Lubbock, Braxen and Corvin Reynolds, both of Ft. Worth and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David Berkey and Keith Berkey.
Memorial services were conducted Friday, January 18 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Chuck Bergen officiated.
