Frank Joseph Broadwater, age 87, of Hancock, Md., passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at his home.

Born December 6, 1931, in Westernport, Md., he was the son of the late Stanley M. and Mary B. (Mann) Broadwater Flowers; and the husband, for 64 years, of Ruby E. (Myers) Broadwater.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Frank was a member of the Sharpsburg Bible Church, in Sharpsburg, Md.

He was a member of the Webster B. Harrison Post 26, American Legion, in Hancock, and the Korean Veterans Association, Antietam Chapter 312, in Hagerstown, Md.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Patricia J. Shipley Bowen and her husband, Jack Bowen, of Hagerstown, Md.; one son, Dennis G. Broadwater and his wife, Tina, of Sharpsburg, Md.; two granddaughters, 1st Lt. Victoria Broadwater, of Hawaii, and Meghan E. Broadwater, of Sharpsburg; a sister-in-law, June Broadwater; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin M. Broadwater, and Harry S. Broadwater; and a sister-in-law, Norma Broadwater.

Funeral services will be held at the Antioch Christian Church, 7902 Timber Ridge Road, Big Cove Tannery, Pa., on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 11 a.m. Pastor Gene Renner will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery, with Military Honors presented by the Tri-State Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, on Friday, May 31, 2019, from 6 until 8 p.m., and at the church one hour prior to the services on Saturday.

Memorial donations, in his name, may be made to the Sharpsburg Bible Church, 5134 General Stuart Court, Sharpsburg, MD 21782; or to the Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion, 240 E. Main St., Hancock, MD 21750.
