Frances Eileen Rhodes, 79, of Berkeley Springs, formerly of Manassas, Va., died Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at her home.

Born September 5, 1940 in Washington, D.C, she was the daughter of the late POI Ashby Nelson USN and Dorothy Mildred Poole Butler.

She was a Catholic.

She graduated from Osbourn High School in Manassas.

She was a teachers assistant for grades two-four in Harford County Maryland Public School System.

She was also a troop leader with the Girl Scouts. She liked crocheting and hiking.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wayne Rhodes at home; one daughter, LCpl Cynthia Rhodes USMC, Gaithersburg, Md.; two sons, Sgt. Bryan Rhodes USMC, Boston, Va. and Duane Rhodes, Warrenton, Va.; one sister, Linda Robinson, Sterling, Va.; one brother, Wayne Butler, Point Venture, Texas; six grandchildren, GySgt. Matthew Rhodes USMC, Jacksonville, N.C., Erica Rhodes, Falls Church, Va., Kellen Rhodes, Manassas, Selena Rhodes, Jacksonville, Jarod Horner, Gaithersburg and Mason Rhodes, Manassas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Anthony Rhodes and two grandchildren, Connor Rhodes and Sgt. Lauren Rhodes U.S. Army.

Services and interment were private.
