A winter storm dropped between seven and eight inches of ice and snow on the county and surrounding areas last Thursday, November 15. Precipitation started a little after daylight, but continued well into the evening, leaving local roads in dangerous conditions for the better part of the day.
Morgan County Schools were called off both Thursday and Friday, November 16. The Morgan County Courthouse was closed on Thursday, and opened on a two-hour delay on Friday. Many local events were cancelled or postponed due to the snowstorm.
