Evelyn M. Smith
1941-2019
Evelyn Marie Smith, 78, of Berkeley Springs died on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville.
Born February 6, 1941 in Elkton, Va., she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Betsy Elizabeth Shifflett Morris.
She was a Christian.
She attended public schools in Hancock, Md. and had worked at Vanguard Products in Berkeley Springs. She had been a homemaker. She liked music and to work in her garden.
She is survived by her children, John Smith, North Carolina, Terry Smith, Hagerstown, Md., Tammy Lindsay, Madison, Gregory Smith, Shanghai, Deborah Harris, Lora Sisenstein and Lisa Horton all of Berkeley Springs; three sisters, Donna Weller and Elvarine Vanorsdale, both of Hancock and Ruby Kager, Elkton, Va.; one brother, Kenneth Morris, Berkeley Springs, 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Smith; two children, Mary Smith and William Smith; one grandson, Brian Mellott; four sisters, Myrtle Green, Lucille Mace, Charlene Morris and Dee Younker and four brothers, John Morris, Norman Morris, Buddy Shifflett and James Morris.
Services and interment in Orchard Ridge Church of God Cemetery, Hancock, will be private.
